Rain, floods and tornadoes. Spring is here!
48*, 94% humidity, SSE 2 mph wind, cloudy
How do you know it is finally spring in NW Indiana?
1) Endless rain and thunder- We've gotten 5-6 inches here since Wednesday. My garden is once more a swamp. The dry was too good to last...
2) Floods (the river once more is flooded, even over some roads here and into peoples garages and houses)
3) Tornado sirens. How is it they go off when there are no tornadoes yet never go off when tornadoes arrive? There was a cop lady in her patrol car who had a very close encounter with a twister a few miles to the east yesterday. Picked her whole car up (with her in it) lifted it over a fence about 150 feet and dropped the car nose down into the mud. She was basically OK, the car wasn't. WOW. I wonder if ruby slippers are standard issue uniform around here?
So...what do you do when its pouring rain all the time and you can't garden?
Stitch. You get the itch and you pick up a UFO and get working on it. I am working on a design called 'Floral Wreath' which was a kit I picked up for $2.50 last year on clearance. I really don't like it much (not my favorite colors) but for that low of a price I couldn't pass it up! Anyway I'm almost done except for endless hours of back stitching ahead of me....UGH. I figure I can make a pillow cover out of it for one of the ugly couch pillows.
