This after I read about all world wide Magnolias having trouble existing: Magnolias—Bloom and Doom?
I really like the native trees, and as you know already, I have a young tulip tree in my yard which I planted last year.

2 seeds of thought:
Maybe the rabbit burrow is closer to your neighbors garden than yours? Maybe they don't need to venture further away from home as long as dinner is at your neighbor's garden.
Or could it be that you actually spend more time in your garden that your neighbors spend in theirs. Maybe the human scent is more present in your garden. Rabbits stay away from that human smell. Years ago when I had rabbit trouble in the garden, I kept them away by spreading human hair all around the perimeter of the garden (my wife was a hairdresser).
No matter why they don't bother you, its pretty funny that they bother your neighbors. Although I've never heard anyone complain about such a thing before! :)
Hello Girl Gone gardening,
Since I'm from Illinois, the name "Tulip Tree" brings the Yellow Tulip Poplar to mind... but down here, a "Tulip Tree" usually means Saucer Magnolias. I thought you might be amused by this!
