The global warming report is out:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071117/ap_on_sc/climate_change_conference;_ylt=Av8ODCfAYV9GYMANhEB_9HFxieAA

And yet there are still people 'round here that say global warming is a hoax! I wonder if any of those anti-believers live in the drought stricken areas of the US where they are running out of water and having to truck in water from other places?

All these water shortages, droughts, melting ice caps, etc., have happened several times in the past 150 years and just because we have 24 hour news and can see instantly the current weather doesn't necessarily mean it's any worse now that in the past. Did you see the new NASA report that global warming may NOT be the only cause of Arctic sea ice melt? Here's the link. Whay havent' we heard this? Why?

http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsroom/NasaNews/2007/2007111325923.html

It says: "NASA - November 13, 2007)
("A team of NASA and university scientists has detected an ongoing reversal in Arctic Ocean circulation triggered by atmospheric circulation changes that vary on decade-long time scales. The results suggest not all the large changes seen in Arctic climate in recent years are a result of long-term trends associated with global warming."

You are entitlied to believe as you wish, however when a LOT not just a few scientists believe the same thing and are even willing to agree on this thing, I am more inclined to think that yes, there is a global change problem.

I deleated some of your comments because, well you can get your point across WITHOUT the sarcassim (which is jsut plain rude from someone who's never left comments here before and thus has no credibility in my book)

As a day to day weather forecaster, we always go back to see whether records have been broken, look at past events and so forth. And so far, I seen nothing currently that hasen't happened before. However, I DO agree that the earth is warming at a fast rate (except for most of Antartica) and that we should all try to cut back on our greenhouse gas emissions. I'm all for making carmakers improve on mileage, for instance.

About those IPCC scientists, I saw a list that less than 10 of the 2,000 were climatologists. That bothers me. And I guess you've heard of the petition that's been signed by over 19,000 scientists in the US that stated there wasn't an imminent climate crisis (I can give you that list if you want). There's so much that isn't being reported.

Thanks for clerifying your stance. It's hard to ever really know what is coming since humans have only been around for a short period of time. I appreciate that you came back to give good and reasonable explinations how you feel the way you do. It gives me and others something more to chew on. :)
So many people feel that if it's not going to affect them in thier lifetime then they don't care to change the way they do things without thinking of those who will come after.

You're absolutely right about many people not caring about future generations. That's really sad.

By the way, what kind of software or program are you creating the blogs in? The formats and colors are great and I'm thinking of creating one myslef. Keep up the good work.

Sort of off topic, but what do you think about my Trumper Swan photos here in Arkansas? They tell me they arrive around Thanksgiving if it's cold enough in Minnesota, where they're from. So far this year, it hasn't been too cold up there:
