It feels like spring....
58*, 87% humidity, S 16 mph wind, cloudy, FLOOD WATCH
The snow is all gone, the ice is gone, and the air is a reasonable and mild temperature, only to get warmer tomorrow. It drives me nuts. It makes me want to grab the spade and start shoveling and to start weeding and planting and puttering. It's just cruel I tell you. Give me spring fever and then take it away later with more snow and ice.
Inside, one of the new African violets that has grown humongous from the little leaf cutting it had been has finally opened it's first bud. I didn't know what color it was before. Its a plain Jane single flowered purple, but that's OK, I'll take ANY color, any flower form right now. As soon as I find out which of the other cuttings are the same one, I will sell the extras off.
Here is a note about the daylily seedlings: Plant seeds in individual containers or peat pots. I planted all the seeds in one container. They need to be potted up separately now, but there are seeds still sprouting while the ones that have already sprouted are growing like weeds. I'm up to 19 now that have sprouted.
I also need to separate and pot up the catnip seedlings but can you imagine what adventure that will be with a kitten that is entirely too fond of it and doesn't yet realize that jumping up on the counter (where I will be repotting) is a no no.
In my quest to keep this years resolutions, I cooked my dinner for work tonight. Egg (whites), turkey bacon, and spinach frittata. I used everything already in my fridge and didn't buy anything for it. Since I can't get turkey bacon local made, this will be the last of it. Even though it's 'healthier' then pork bacon, it is a very highly processed item and I'd do better without it anyway.
