Resolutions are HARD

37*, 100% humidity, E 3 mph wind, cloudy

OK, do you know how hard it is to find local foods this time of year? If it were just me, I could survive on beans and rice if I had to until I found a source of local meat. I'm sure it has to be out there somewhere, after all, there are farms around. But until I can find some, I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and buy meat. You see, Mr. Hyper considers himself a carnivore. He's convinced that he'd keel over dead if he didn't get meat in some of his meals. What can I do but compromise? I got the hint when he handed me a long list of meat products he would like to have in the freezer yesterday ;).

This is just more motivation to get the meat rabbits project going. I'm thinking of either bartering with my like minded neighbor for his wood working skills to make a nice multi rabbit hutch or paying him to build one. I'll have to ask and see what he thinks. I don't know anything about building from scratch. I'm usually more likely to buy a prebuilt one then build my own but then that would not be in the spirit of being more self sufficient, would it?

I know what you're talking about; "buy local" sounds pretty silly when there is a foot of snow on the ground.
