The Pepper Line-Up
16*, 90% humidity, calm winds, foggy, FLOOD WARNING
My pepper list is not quite as extensive nor impressive as my tomato list. I think they are just harder to grow for me, and I see much less output for the input I put into them. Still, a fresh organic sweet pepper is better then anything store bought. I grow hot peppers only for my husband, who can eat a habanaro raw. You think I kid, but I will be sure to get a picture of it this year as he bites down on one of those buggers! I can't even handle one of those pickled peppers that come with hot sandwiches at restaurants!
So here is my sad little line up. I'm thinking next year i will need to expand some!
- Pepper, College 64L-- This was a freebie trial pack from Totally Tomatoes this year. Its not heirloom not OP, unfortunately. Why don't they ever send out OP varieties?
- Pepper, Gourmet Rainbow Hyb. Mix--OK, I know these aren't OP kinds either, but I just wanted to try them. I love colored peppers.
- Pepper, Jalapeno Chili--For my husband, of course! I bought this seed packet a couple years ago from a seed rack at waldeath and didn't get around to starting the seeds because of an unexpected trip to CA last year during the time I normally start them. I *GASP* bought starts last year.
- Pepper, Purple beauty--this one IS OP, and its very prolific! It never has a green stage, its purple from the start, but bitter if you pick em too small. They are the only bells ever that have produced a commendable amount of fruits for me. Perhaps this year I'll save the seeds----if I can stand to let one ripen lone enough on the plant! I got these originally from Pinetree Garden Seeds.
- Pepper, Serrano Chili-- Again these are solely for Mr. Hyper! I can't remember where I picked up the packet of seeds, maybe from waldeath or Lowe's or something.
That's it for the pepper line up. I wouldn't mind growing peppers for peperchinis for Mr. Hyper and Chili Powder, but for this year I am running out of room in my imagined garden already lol! I'm thinking 3 peppers each for the garden.
