The WOES of Cat Ownership, Sasha pupdate, and TOO MANY SEEDLINGS!

Sasha Pupdate: Sasha is now schedualed for surgery on Wedensday-- They are going to remove the growths and flush her kidneys too.
Too Many Seedlings! Remember those Rosa seeds I ordered from Angel Grove Tree seed? Well I had no idea every seed would decide to sprout. I have over 80 rose seedlings, and I haven't even begun to hatch the Virginia rose seeds yet. I pricked 72 rugosas out of the sprouting baggies this morning. There are MORE in the baggies but I simply have no room for them all! I expected maybe 10 of each the white and red would sprout.... And they are all still tiny yet. What happens when they get too big to stay in little peat pellets??? What then??? And there is NO WAY I can plant 72 rugosas in my garden!! .....Maybe like 6 or 10 of them.....
What have I got myself into?
You can't really see much in this next picture, but this is another shelf. This one has the hostas. Some are just starting to sprout. They sure do like to take thier time....!
And the trouble with cats in my house can be shown by this picture. Here I was, minding my own buisness, rearranging the plants under the grow lights trying to find more room. The cats, wern't happy with terrorizing each other, the dog, the gazillions of cat toys and knocking lamps and chairs over while stampeading over furnature through the house. NOPE. As soon as I got busy with something they HAD to get involved. Plants don't stand a chance between these 2. Already, Osa was trying to eat them and Freya was trying to decide what was the best way to disect the cactus....She loves cactus, the spineier the better....who knows why? I quickly rescued the plants from harm, and they got back to litter box and paper bag wars. Next time....I'm working with my plants during thier nap time! I got news for those two, thier play land in the big picture window may have to be moved once my roses get bigger!

Nickie - I'm so jealous of all your seedlings. I still don't have mine going in the basement yet. I did purchase the lights and timers and as with every weekend, my goal is to get it done this weekend. Keep us posted about Sasha.
How about turning your extra seedlings into springtime gifts? An inexpensive pot can be dressed up a little with some ribbon, and given to anyone you think might appreciate a rose.
Oh, and watch out on the peppermint. It can take over an entire bed. Which is okay, if that's what you want (I did!), but a bit disconcerting if you don't.
How about I send you some perennials this spring, and you can send me some roses? I have a pink rugosa rose, if it lives, it wasn't looking very happy since it had to be moved. But I would love to have more pink, and I don't have ANY white!!
Ah yes, we could very easily do a trade!! But it is quite a good bit colder here, so it will be a while before they will be big enough and it will be warm enough to send any live plants by mail, but yes, I'd love to do a trade with you :)
Just dropped by and wanted to post...So sorry about your puppy...we love them so....
Walking through my living room is a testament to living with a cat..sheets covering the furniture to protect it from up-chucking and no plants, again the up-chucking issue!

Sell plants on ebay!
You have a plethora of plants. Lucky Girl! And the green thumb is obvious.
Wowie, that sure is a lot of baby plants!
I can't have anything green around my cats - they love chewing leaves, batting at leaves, knocking over containers...well, you get the picture. That's a really cute shot of your kitties eyeing the succulents - I can sense the mischief. ;-)
you must have the magic touch if all of the seedlings sprouted! i have some tulips growing in my garage and i check out seeds at the store and online but so far, i have not been brave enough to start any serious pre-spring gardening. good for you for what you have going so far!
