A handy tip.
I don't know about you folks with larger gardens, but those of us with small gardens can't hardly use up a whole packet of veggie seeds all at one time. There usually is some left over for another sowing or two. In the past, I would just fold the seed packets closed, but this has resulted in a whole lot of mystery seed in the bottom of my seed boxes. Sometimes I would tape the seed packets closed, but this resulted in seeds sticking to the tape. So this winter, I have started putting seed packets and remaining seed into little yellow envelopes. I have a surplus of them given to me by a friend who didn't want them. I write what they are on the outside. Problem solved.
Oh yeah, in honor of March 1st, I planted Chinese Cabbage today.

Ha! Timely post. We just did a massive seed re-organization project and found plenty of mystery escapees at the bottom of the seed box. We paper clip some folded packets and use those small yellow envelopes for others, but, yeah, folded over and thrown in the box? Not a great strategy.
I get my seeds all mixed up too, all the time. I agree, what can I possibly do with them all?
