Sasha, the newset Angel

There must be a place for the special dogs, the ones that are so loyal and kind. The kinds of dogs the neighborhood loves, where toddlers can climb and pull on and be safe with wagging tail and sweet Patience. The kind of dog that even warms a girls heart who isn't a dog person, who befriends a scared feral kitten to become inseparable.

Yesterday was not a happy birthday fro Mr. Hyper nor for me. We lost our Sasha suddenly, we do not know why, and do not wish to get the autopsy. The poor dog has suffered enough indignities at the vet's lately. Yesterday morning she was fine, eating excitedly as always, running outside to do our routine. Being bright and happy as usual. Hours later, I was getting ready for work just coming out of the shower. Something was wrong. I will spare you all the details of how it came to be, but it was quick. I think perhaps a massive stroke but that is only a guess. We could not even get her to the vet. We know, we just know she was leaving us the moment it all started. It was as if everything inside her just gave up at once.

This is hard for us, I've been crying since. Mr Hyper cried also and I've never seen him cry before. Freya cat too, she just doesn't know what to do with herself. She kept trying to get Sasha to play with her, not understanding why she wouldn't as we waited to bury her. I know animals grieve too, she is roaming the house calling for her friend.

Rest In Peace, dear Sasha dog.

Sasha was such a lovely, patient dog and I enjoyed reading about her.

There is a place.

We lost a beloved pet 2 years ago, and still, we miss him. We hope for the Rainbow Bridge. 'Cause how would heaven be heaven without all those we love?

So sorry to hear of Sasha's passing. Our pets are part of our families and mourned just as much. Condolences from me and the Fur Patrol.

Nickie, I hadn't seen this post before I welcomed Brandy in "her" post... but I want you know that I'm so sorry for your loss. I know you and Mr. Hyper took great care of Sasha, and that she was a great friend to you in return. (*hugs*)
