Pumpkins!

74*, feels like 76*, 30" and rising barometer, 85% humidity, calm, fair

Its been hot this week---and I've been enjoying the heat although I've mostly been stuck at work during the hot parts. This morning, when checking out the now monstrous giant pumpkin plants, I noticed not one, not two, not three, but FOUR Pumpkins just beginning. They are about the size of soccer balls and that's the first day after being pollinated! COOL!

Maybe they are soccer balls?

Have you seen my miserable attempt at pumpkin growing in NE England? Not very impressive. No soccer balls, and hardly any leaves!

The vine borers are pretty close to killing all my Amish Pie pumpkins as of yet. The one giant seems to be holding it's own as of today.

The vine boreres killed two of my decoy plants---- but my main pupmpkin vines are doing great. Both the giants and the sugar pies. I hate vine borers! I never had that pest in CA.
